Kit for Second Hand Clothes containing the Bonnie Blue pattern and fabric for the quilt top of 110 'scraps' (approximately 9" X 11") of Civil War Era prints and yarn dyes plus Essex (our favorite 19th century solid of cotton/linen)in medium dark taupe for setting triangles (we are happy to substitute a 19th century red broadcloth for the Essex--just make a note in 'comments')and a 10 1/2 yd strip of a lightweight striped twill to be used for a Trenton tape style binding AND 4 pages of Civil War economic, social and textile/quilt history.

Striped twill for binding is available in either red/taupe or blue/taupe (see expanded view), please indicate preference in Comments toward the end of check out.

Quilt kit for Susanna includes 40 FQ's of c. 1870 (1860-1880)reproduction fabrics in soft worn colorations plus sashing,setting and binding fabrics and the magazine, Quiltmania #64. I have included more FQs that required by the pattern to give you a good variety. Artificial alizarin was discovered in 1869--the 1870-80's are called the Madder Decades with lots of madder rose and brown in prints and yard dyes. Old Kentucky Home Quilt Kit using the Bonnie Blue pattern--My Old Kentucky Home. The pattern shows a blue calico with browns/shirtings for the scrappy blocks. I fell in love with this sparkling brown calico and have paired it with 14 different blue and shirting prints.

The kit contians the Bonnie Blue pattern and features 14 different FQ's of reproduction blue prints and 14 FQ's of shirtings plus a smashing brown reproduction calico for the setting blocks and binding. Finished size approx 74" X 85".

Finished size 92" X 92". The pattern was designed by Margo Krager and introduces a unique applique technique that features a classic basket floating on woven ticking stripes!
