************* ANSWERS!! *************
GENERAL INFO
G-1. Do you have a catalog?
We have a brochure that lists some of our products. Our online catalog is
the best place to see our fabrics. Being online, we can quickly change our catalog as new fabrics arrive -- they can be "beamed" up the day they come in the door!
G-2. Are the fabric pictures the same size as
the fabric?
We use several standard size images. The actual size of the fabric in our standard pictures is 1.75" x 2" .There are some exceptions to the standard size - a few of the fabrics in our indigos, wovens, and sale areas. It may appear as a different size on your screen depending on the pixel specifications of your monitor.
On those images where you can click on the picture for a larger image,
the size is 4" x 4". If the larger size is different from the
standard 4" x 4" we state the size and whether the picture has
been scaled down or reduced to fit on the webpage.
G3. What is the fiber content of the fabrics you carry?
Almost all of our fabrics are 100% cotton; the remaining fabrics are
either silk or a cotton/linen mix and are noted on the webpage they are
on.
G4. What is the width of fabric?
The standard width of our fabrics is 45"; any exceptions are noted.
G-5. You use the abbreviation "c." a lot.
What does it mean?
"c." is the abbreviation for circa - meaning about or an approximation of the
year
G-6. How does ReproductionFabrics.com date the fabrics? or
know which time period they represent?
We spend an enormous amount of time researching fabrics used in quilts and
garments. This includes extensive library research on textiles, print
and dye technology development, visiting museums all over the US, and viewing
private and public textile collections. We also own a collection of vintage
fabrics (vintage = actual fabric from the past). Margo is currently
doing research in economic history with emphasis on the cotton
textile industry.
Knowing all this, we shop the fabric markets and select fabrics that we think
were typical of certain time periods.
G-7. Do you give out customer names to anyone?
No. We respect your privacy & do not give our customer information
to anyone.
G-8. Can I get fabric samples?
There are several options. You can (1) purchase sample sets of specific fabric
collections or (2) buy a custom sample set of 12-15 3" square samples designed
for your time period or project (cost $11.50, which can apply to purchase of
yardage
from
the sample
set within 30 days; shipping charge is $1.50). If it is a case of being undecided
on several fabrics, we can send you 2-3 samples for free.
G-9. How can I tell the darker colors apart?
The stock numbers actually contain a color code. The last letter character in the stock number indicates the dominant color (sometimes background, sometimes foreground). Example: PN13G => G for green. The color code is:
| COLOR CODING |
A - black B - blue C - cream D - gold E - beige F - taupe |
G - green H - peach J - orange/rust L - lilac M - madder |
N - navy P - pink Q - aqua/teal R - red S - silver/gray |
T - tan W - brown X - burgundy Y - yellow Z - white |
G-10. What is your policy on returns?
We do not accept returns on cut fabric (including sale fabric), patterns,
or books
.
G-11. Do you have a storefront open to the public?
Our hours open to the public are noon. - 3 p.m. M-F (MST) ; other hours by
appointment (406-580-3358). However, our work hours are generally 10-
4 M-F (MST) and our servers work 24 hours a day! We are located at 205
Haggerty Lane Suite 190, Bozeman, MT 59715.

ORDERING & ORDERS
O-1.What is your minimum yardage cut?
Our minimum cut is 1/2 yard. We do have some quarters available in our Sale & Closeout shelf and occasionally in some of our collections.
0-2. How long should it take to receive my order?
We normally ship within 48 hours of receiving your order. In the U.S.,
Priority Mail and UPS take 3-7 business days to reach their destination.
Overseas shipments are highly variable depending on the country and
method of shipping.
O-3. Can I order by just an email note without using your Shopping Basket?
Yes, if we already have your credit card number and mailing address on file. Just list the items wanted & quantities, along with your name and phone number. If the information is not on file with us, please use our order form that is encrypted for security, or phone or fax the information.
O-4. What is the "cookie" I had to accept before placing an order?
The "cookie" is just a means of temporarily storing the information of what's in your shopping basket. What actually happens when you activate the cart, is that our server sends your computer a temp ID number and then all items you order are assigned to that ID #. There is no other information in the "cookie" other than your temp shopping basket ID.
O-5. Do the indigo fabrics require special care?
Only in "setting" the color. To maintain the maximum blue coloration,
or at anytime you want to "set" the dye, we recommend a normal
washing with a final rinse with either white vinegar OR kosher salt.
For a more faded look, wash with regular detergent until you get the color desired, then use the above method to set the dye.
Washing will also soften the fabric to a nice "hand" (when new, they are heavily sized)
O-6. What are your
shipping charges?
Click here for a pop-up window of shipping charts
O-7. How do I redeem a gift certificate?
In checkout, there is a window for comments. Just tell us to apply gift certificate number XXX to the order.
