The *Mariakerke Stars* quilt pattern was designed to complement Michelle Yeo’s *Mariakerke* fabric collection by Henry Glass Fabrics. The collection was inspired by fabrics from two antique quilts from the 1830s and 1840s, which Michelle purchased at the European Patchwork Meeting in 2022. She attended the event with her Belgian friend, Françoise, who lives in Mariakerke, Ghent, Belgium.
The pattern includes two versions of the *Mariakerke Stars* quilt:
- Quilt 1 (87 x 103) features three strips, each containing five Devil’s Claw blocks set on point within setting triangles. These strips are framed by vertical strips of a striking border print.
- Quilt 2 (68.5 x 86) features two strips, each with four Devil’s Claw blocks set on point, along with a strip of eight pieced Evening Star blocks. These strips are framed with vertical borders and finished with the main border print.
