Modern Classics is a striking collection by Monika Zhu for Marcus Fabrics, combining timeless motifs with a sophisticated palette of red, black, cream, and warm neutrals. Two beautiful floral toiles anchor the collection, complemented by delicate wispy florals, graceful botanicals, classic plaids, and versatile coordinating prints.
Monika Dongxia Zhu brings a fascinating background to her textile designs. A New York City–based illustrator and textile designer, she graduated from Zhejiang Art School in Hangzhou, China, and has worked in textile design for both apparel and quilting since moving to New York in 1995.
This collection has an elegant, collected-over-time feeling that makes it a natural addition to our Timeless Fabrics section. Use the prints together for a coordinated quilt or mix the toiles, florals, and plaids into your reproduction and traditional projects.
