Garibaldi Red (6)Fat Quarter Bundle

Each Bundle may vary slightly.

This curated Garibaldi Red Fat Quarter Bundle includes 6 richly coordinated reproduction prints inspired by one of the most recognizable color stories of the mid-19th century.

Giuseppe Garibaldi, the famed Italian freedom fighter, and his followers were known for their distinctive red shirts. Their influence quickly crossed the Atlantic, and by the 1850s–1860s, “Garibaldi” had become a fashion term in America. Young women wore garments featuring full skirts, modest bodices, and short bolero-style jackets made of red wool and often trimmed with black braid.

Textile manufacturers followed fashion, and the name carried into fabrics as well. Red and black prints—like those in this bundle—were commonly referred to as “Garibaldi,” reflecting both the bold color combination and its fashionable association.

This bundle brings together six complementary prints including small geometrics, subtle textures, and classic stripes, all in warm, historically grounded reds with black accents. Perfect for Civil War-era quilts, appliqué, or adding depth and contrast to your reproduction projects, these fabrics capture the spirit and style of a truly iconic period.
