These are the chunks & snippets of colorful fabrics scattered all over our cutting tables. Squares or strips in a mixture of prints, plaids, and solids. A 1/2 Pound packet; scrap size varies from a 3" square to a skinny fat eigths.
An era of applique quilts; sparkle colors from new mineral dyes; large squiggles, vines, & ombre stripes. Pastel prints are a good indication of c.1830. I own 9 Antique Fabric Sample books. My oldest one has been dated c. 1830. There are no names nor dates anywhere on the book...just the number 4 on the cover. Dr Virginia Gunn from the University of Akron helped me date it by the plethora of pastel prints. Especially prevalent through out are pinks with yellow! See my Private line...Dargate Livre Pinks
