NEW! Civil War Inspired Log Cabin BOM + New Preorders, Shirtings & Restocks

Dear Quilting Friends,

One of America’s most beloved quilt patterns is coming to Reproduction Fabrics…

We are excited to announce our brand new Civil War Inspired Log Cabin Block of the Month Program, launching July 2026!

The Log Cabin quilt became one of the defining quilt styles of 19th-century America. Its popularity grew during the Civil War era and the decades that followed, admired for its strong geometric design, symbolic meaning, and wonderfully scrappy character.

Traditionally, a warm red center represented the hearth or heart of the home, while light fabrics symbolized sunshine and dark fabrics represented shadow. The dramatic contrast between lights and darks made Log Cabin quilts visually striking and endlessly versatile — from Barn Raising layouts to Straight Furrow and Courthouse Steps settings.

Our new 6-month subscription program (July–December 2026) celebrates this rich quilting tradition with authentic reproduction fabrics, historical learning, and creative flexibility. Final quilt is 72" by 72" but would be easy to customize to your prefered size.

Each month you will receive:

• Curated Civil War reproduction lights and darks selected by Margo Krager from our deep collection of Civil War Era reproductions.
• A beautiful assortment of shirtings, plaids, checks, warm browns, brick reds, deep indigos, golds, and classic 19th-century prints
• Fabrics selected to help you create warm, scrappy blocks with antique character

Your program also includes the Creative Grids® 6" Log Cabin Trim Tool, designed by Jean Ann Wright, which creates perfect:

• Traditional Log Cabin blocks
• Half Log Cabin blocks
• Courthouse Steps blocks

Choose the style you love! Instructions are included with the ruler.

And because history is woven into everything we do…

Each month, Margo Krager — fabric historian, textile researcher, and owner of ReproductionFabrics.com — will include an original history essay exploring Civil War America, textiles, quilting traditions, dyes, dress fabrics, and daily life of the period.

This program is designed for reproduction fabric lovers, history enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys stitching a quilt filled with timeless American character.
