We have a new fun Spring project to share with you. Step into a fresh blend of modern design and quilting craftsmanship with our newest kit—the Hemingway Quilted Pouch Kit featuring Frank Lloyd Wright’s American Bold fabrics. This project is perfect for the adventerous beginner sewer and it create a wonderful quilted pouch for you or a gift for a friend.
Inspired by Wright’s iconic architectural style, this kit brings together bold geometry, rich color, and clean lines in a way that feels both striking and timeless. It’s a wonderful opportunity to work with a fabric collection that reflects the Prairie School aesthetic—strong structure, thoughtful design, and a sense of movement.
At the heart of the kit is the Hemingway Pouch pattern by Center Street Quilts, known for its distinctive diagonal zipper that adds both function and visual interest. The finished Large size pouch (approximately 9" x 12") is perfectly sized for an iPad, tablet, notebook, or your favorite sewing essentials—making it as practical as it is beautiful. We have created kits for the Large and Extra large size but your pattern will include instrructions for all 4 sizes of pouch!
Each kit is thoughtfully curated and includes:
- Fabric for the pouch exterior and accents (American Bold and other fun curated farbics are available, or use your own!)
- Coordinating fabrics for a polished finish
- Foam stabilizer for structure and protection
- Sallie Tomato zipper with pulls
- Hemingway Pouch pattern (four size options included)
- Tips and tricks sheets to help you with the project.
The quilted construction gives your pouch durability and a soft, padded feel, while the architectural prints make every finished piece a true statement. Whether you’re sewing for yourself or creating a one-of-a-kind gift, this kit offers a satisfying project with a modern edge.
Our friend Lois created our in house samples for us and they turned out GREAT. Lois was nice enough to create a couple of tips and tricks sheets to help you create the pouch and how to install the zipper and are included in the kits. She was also nice enough to create a couple of videos and we have loaded to our youtube channel - Cottonopia. Thank you Lois!
