18th Century Inspired Pieced Strippy Quilt – Block of the Month
January–June 2026 (6 Monthly Shipments)
Designed by Margo Krager, Fabric Historian & Owner of ReproductionFabrics.com
Strippy Quilts became popular in the late 18th century for their simple elegance—broad strips of fabric highlighted by beautiful quilting. Pieced Strippy Quilts soon followed, adding stars or other blocks into alternating strips for extra movement and visual interest. This BOM celebrates that tradition in honor of America’s 250th anniversary of the 1776 signing of the declaration of independence.
Our quilt features forty-eight star blocks—one classic block interpreted in eight variations through creative fabric placement. The stars flow in a striking stair-step layout, framed by an authentic Dutch Heritage chintz border that echoes true 18th-century scale and color.
Your 6-month subscription includes:
• Pattern instructions for an 88" x 96" quilt
• Monthly fabric shipments for stars and strippy sections
• Dutch Heritage chintz border fabric
• Historical notes from Margo each month
A beautiful project rooted in early textile history—perfect for Semiquincentennial stitching in 2026.
